If I had the Reactive Grip Controller, I will do two things with:

    1. Creating and playing with a solar system and its object-bodies; with the forces of gravity and mass object impact being able to be felt and experimented upon. It would be interesting to create different planetary bodies with various type of minerals and feel their weight behind them as they are being formed and/or bombarded. (God-Physics Simulator Game)

    2. Piloting a Mech or robot-like unit like in MechWarrior or Aliens Caterpillar P-5000. It would be incredible to finally experience the weight and physical force of a 20ft metal gorilla in a virtual or augmented reality environment. Gundum anyone?

Looking forward to see what we can do with Reactive Grip. 😀

    Hey there,
my Name is Daniel Korgel (“Dakor”). I’m writer of the German Oculus Rift and VR blog Moreover than a writer i am a developer (who is writing a blog in his free time)

I’m studying Computer Science and right now I am looking for a project for my final exam / thesis. I spoke to my prof and we decided to do a project with Oculus Rift and hand/body tacking (Hydra / Stem). The Reactive Grip would be an awesome addon for this.

##To give you an idea in which direction it will go:
(The following is the current status of the project)
Right now I am developing something like a telepresence “Tech-Demo” using Oculus Rift and Razer Hydra.
Players can host or join a server. They can see the other players what are doing (Hand Positions, Head Rotation). Players can walk around and “interact” with each other.
While everything is developed to be used with Oculus/Hydra, I also hacked an implementation for players without Oculus and/or without Hydra.

##How this Project will probably develop:
    – I will release a free “telepresence” demo soon. (once I fixed all bugs)
    – Next step then will be PvP (first range weapons, then maybe melee weapons)
    – Once I achieved a final/stable state of my scripts I will probably release the source code as Public Domain or open source – because I want more co-op and online games with the Rift and Hydra/ Steam -and i am more a coder than a designer anyway.
    – I will probably add zombies to the Demo so you can defend your house in the Tuscana against zombies with players all over the world – This part will probably open source/Public Domain as well, but obviously without any paid content I will probably use. (Models for Weapons/Zombies etc.)
    – Other developers will be free to create their own stuff with my Code

Feel free to ask me any questions about this.

    Kind regards,
    Daniel Korgel

I would use the reactive grip with the Virtuix Omni I’m getting. I would love to play a realistic sword (and other medieval weapons) game, as I practice western martial arts.

I’m really excited to feel the weight and heft of a sword, the kick of a gun, the feel of a fireball as you’re about to throw it at the advancing army.

I would use it to further trick the minds of friends and family as I provide demos of my Rift. To not only see and hear, but also feel the virtual world around them, it would paint quite a bright opinion of VR’s days to come.
